I went to the Apple Store but didn't buy an iPad. My will power worked overdrive. I'm still holding out for the 3G version. But man, that's one gorgeous device.

Haven't even gone up to the Apple Store. Don't have the patience to see one and not buy the "cheap" version. Ordered a 3G the day the pre-orders went online. Hoping I get it the day of release, but you never know. I have been reading all the blogger's "must haves" and putting together a short list of apps to get / high grade cases. Perhaps a support community needs to be established for the next few weeks for those of us who are waiting so that we can roam free, untethered to our neighbors unlocked wifi.
I was surprised how easy it was to get hands-on with an iPad at the store, and even more surprised when an Apple Store employee announced they still had plenty left for purchase.
But the way I see it, if I'm going to be using this iPad for the next few years, I want it to have all of the features I need, including 3G. In the past few months, I've spent a lot of time away from free wi-fi or without Internet at home. Having a $15/month Internet "lifeline" is essential.
So now we wait for a few weeks until the ambiguous "late April" release date!
