It’s Snowing in Baltimore
It’s snowing in Baltimore! Over the next 24 hours, we’re expecting two to six inches of snow and sleet. Yes, I understand that, in the grand scheme of things, that’s not a tremendous amount of snow and ice. In fact, I imagine some of my friends up north are laughing right now, rolling their eyes, or a combination of the two.
But that won’t stop the Baltimore/Washington DC area from having a full-on mega freak-out. This is the first real accumulation we’ve had in the area this season, and I think every school system in the area is closed for the day.
But that might not be without reason. Not all of the streets have been treated for snow and ice yet, and I found myself slipping along stretches of sidewalk on my way to work this morning. And if it’s slippery in downtown Baltimore, I imagine it’s nastier out in the suburbs and rural areas.
The snow is supposed to transition into sleet and freezing rain just in time for rush hour tonight, so that will make things a little extra treacherous for walkers and drivers alike. But for now, I have a cup of coffee and a great view out my window of snow slowly covering the city.

The first press conference is scheduled for later today. We will be heading from the head of the snow to sleet transition team about the temperature downturn, the loss of snowmen jobs in the greater DC area and the poor ice to water convertion rate.

Dude. You need a job on one of the Baltimore morning news shows. Perhaps FOX 45.

Send some of that whitestuff this way! We’re not getting it until tomorrow and we’re only going to be getting 2 to 3 inches. NO FAIR!

I had a dream last night that some asshole was doing 50 down St. Paul and slammed on his brakes and flipped over ON TOP of my car.
I still don’t understand why hazardous conditions make people drive LESS cautiously. This morning this woman was taking up two lanes of St. Paul, kept weaving and I go to pass her once she picked a damn lane, and she’s READING THE NEWSPAPER. It’s snowing, it’s slippery, it’s hard to see outside of your car… driving WHILE reading the newspaper? No wonder Maryland drivers have bad raps. I just wish they didn’t ruin it for all of us.
I’m 99% sure I’m taking a personal day tomorrow…because I CAN!

Sean: I’ll be sure to take lots of photos and video for you!
Sam: Drivers around here never cease to amaze me.

Gavin, your intriguing titles draw me in every time. BTW, Baltimore needs to grow a pair.

I’ll take any job at this point.
Also, you should repost that gravatar photo with the zipper zipped all the way up. You can look even MORE like psychopath that way.

Sarah, you’re right. I think a lot of people are hiding indoors today, but that meant no wait for me to get my sandwich from Never on Sunday!
Rob, thanks for the backhanded insult. It starts off like a compliment, but then I realize that I’m creepy-looking!
